This is just a little reminder for P2 parents that tomorrow we will be having our “Story Safari” afternoon at 1.45pm-2.45pm in the gym hall.
Parents/family members are welcome to join if you wish (feel free to drop in when you can). Pupils are also invited to dress-up in “animal” costumes and/or bring an animal (soft teddy – no live ones please!) as a reading buddy.
There will be refreshments and lots of opportunity to read and enjoy books together.

A reminder that the Primary 1 Family Learning Workshops for family members of children in Primary 1 are taking place this week with the Primary 1 team. The Primary 1 teachers will share our approach to learning through play, early literacy development and supporting your child’s learning at home.

Over the past couple of weeks, lots of the pupils have been making models using a variety of materials. Some pupils even challenged themselves to build models of famous landmarks and buildings, using images for inspiration!
Model building furthers our creative and problem solving skills. We have to design, create and test during the building process. it demonstrates our knowledge of shape, space, size and other visual concepts. It can also help to build our fine and gross motor skills. WE LOVE IT!
On Fridays, P1/2 visit the school library and have the opportunity to borrow a book from our school library. We like spending some time reading on the comfy sofas and looking at all the wonderful books on offer. A love for reading can really set us up for literacy success and life-long learning!
The pupils can borrow one book at a time and are asked to return their book the following Friday.
As it is the last day before the holidays, we won’t be choosing new books this week. Please could all pupils return their books (if they have not done so already) so we can take them back to the library. Thank you!

The P1s & P2s did incredibly well today! It was fantastic to see so much enthusiasm and determination. We were the youngest class to complete the full course. Good work team!
Don’t forget to hand in your sponsorship money by Friday 10th October 2019. The money you have raised will go towards school fund and the Highland Hospice!
